Congratulations to Lily Webster from Chippenham Artistic Swimming Squad who has won this months Volunteer of the month.
Lily has been coaching Chippenham artistic swimming squad for over 2 years. She has supported them through all the land training requirements for grade 1 through grade 3 including teaching most of them the splits for their grading.
She embraced online coaching immediately once lockdown started, using Skype meetings 3 times a week (1 hour each time) which has gone on throughout lockdown without missing a session.
She has kept our squad of swimmers together as a team, and without her input there would not be a squad at present.
Once online, she has introduced them to the land training grades, steadily working through each of the requirements, including long jump!
Her inspirational ideas have worked for ages 8 through to 14. She has made each session fun and interactive with great ideas such as land grade bingo.
The swimmers have benefitted hughly from her input and I had 5 parents nominate her this month for volunteer of the month.
In addition to running the sessions, she has raised money through justgiving for the NHS, currently running at hundreds of pounds.
