Brian Armstrong

Gloucester Representative

Originally from the North West, Brian swam as a junior for Barrow and was club captain for a number of years and, as is the case with many swimmers over 16, he left the sport for many years to study and concentrate on his career.

Returning to competitive swimming in 2011, Brian now swims for Gloucester Masters in both pool and open water events and is the club’s Fixtures Secretary. 

He is currently the Honorary Secretary for both Masters and Open Water within the Gloucestershire ASA Executive and was County President from 2018-21.  He also holds the position of Chair of the Open Water Committee for the South West and is the member for Gloucestershire on the Regional Management Board.
