Jackie started off as a volunteer in a club in 1994 when son started competing. Following that, Jackie worked for a few years as the Bath and North East Somerset Council Swimming Development Officer.
Following the change from Active Sports Partnerships to County Sports Partnerships, Jackie continued to cover the role of Swimming Development Officer employed by the West of England Sport Trust. This involved a change of work programme project. It covered not only Swimming development but also safeguarding in sport (as a trained designated Safeguarding Officer) , volunteering in sport, working with a variety of National Governing Bodies of Sport to support and advise them in the delivery of their whole sport plans on a local level.
Currently Jackie is involved with Swim Mark accreditation – the entire process, from the assessments and club support, right through to coordinating communication from National to Regional hubs. If that wasn’t enough, she is also working on developing and delivering the Regional Volunteer Development programme which will be part of the new regional strategy.
In her very limited leisure time, Jackie is a busy grandmother and, along with her husband, volunteers at RNLI fundraising events!
