Currently there is no Diving committee. The region is keen to support the diving clubs locally to support their needs at a club level. The region will be pulling together a meeting of all diving clubs to discuss how this can happen.

Swim England have released their Diving Competition Pathway Document.
A new ‘essential resource’ that aims to illustrate the competition pathway from low to elite level in diving has been created for the diving community. The Diving Competition Pathway Handbook has been produced by the Diving Leadership Group on behalf of Swim England and is a detailed guidance document containing key information around competitions in the sport.
It has been designed in an effort to streamline the information surrounding diving competitions and collate it into a single resource. It includes a comprehensive description of a number of diving competitions within the pathway, as well as a summary of eligibility for competitions.
The Swim England Diving Talent Pathway is also outlined in detail as well as the progression throughout the three-tiered system.
I know a number of clubs have already applied for this but in case you haven’t Sport England have made available a £20 million emergency fund of which grants between £300 and £10,000 are being issued. More details can be found on this link. There initially was some confusion about what could be applied for so please read the information carefully. Applications are open until July 31st however over half of this funding has already been allocated so I would recommend applying as soon as possible. If you have applied and were unsuccessful you are entitled to apply again.
Online/Digital content & Club support
Many clubs have been creating and sharing some great content to support divers across the country while they are on lockdown. This is fantastic and will keep the divers engaged over the coming months. We have had a number of questions regarding insurance and safety and safeguarding and Swim England have produced some guidelines which can be found here. Since these were published we have been asked about the use of garden trampolines for dryland training for diving. We appreciate divers might be taking this extra time at home to play on their trampolines but advise clubs & coaches not to prescribe workouts on the trampolines or advise divers to use them as part of their training. Further information will be posted regarding safeguarding this week. As an organisation we are receiving a lot of questions at this time and have pulled together an FAQ page which is updated regularly. In addition to this the Swim England diving Facebook page has been relaunched and we will look to share information on their also.
Support for Divers & Coaches & Clubs
Over the last week both Swim England and British Diving have been working together with our Talent Development Centres to pull together a plan of how we can provide support over the coming weeks/months. We will be producing a weekly programme of support inclusive of online workouts nutrition, psychology, lifestyle etc. This will be shared online and via social media from next week and will evolve as the weeks progress. Please ensure you are following our social media channels so you can access this. If you know of members of your club organisation who cannot access their work email please ask them to email dive.talent@swimming.org with an alternative email address.
Talent Squads – Team Y, Z and J
In addition to the above support we will be providing additional content for our team J, Y and Z who will receive further information shortly. Once this has been set up and trialled we will be looking to invite coaches who may not have athletes on these squads to be involved so they can share with their programmes. We will also be posting content on the Pathway Portal on our new Covid 19 Section.
