Swim England South West is the regional governing body of swimming in the South West of England. We are one of 8 regions, affiliated directly to Swim England nationally. We aim to develop aquatics opportunities for all, working closely with Swim England to ensure our strategies are aligned.
The Region covers the geographical counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. It works to develop the aquatic disciplines of swimming, diving, open water swimming, artistic swimming and water polo.
The Region is managed by a Regional Management Board which is made up of appointed volunteers from across our membership and is Chaired by Chrissie Robinson. This Board sets the strategic direction of the Region and oversees the work of the five discipline committees who in turn manage their discipline. The Region is supported by a team of professional staff who are employed by Swim England centrally and are based at the office in Wellington. The region currently has 131 swimming clubs and a membership of approximately 26,000.

Swim England South West takes the welfare of all its members seriously. The welfare of children and young people is very important and we follow the recommendations included in Swim England‘s Wavepower manual.
The aim of Wavepower is to safeguard all children in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance and is for use within any Swim England affiliated organisation where children are present. Wavepower helps everyone in aquatics to understand their roles and responsibilities to safeguard all of our children and young people.
If you need any support or advice on how to manage a welfare issue in the first instance please contact your County Welfare Officer if you need further guidance then please contact our SESW Welfare and Governance Officer, Libby Bell, at libby.bell@swimming.org more welfare and safeguarding information can be found under the clubs tab of our website.
