Severnside Tritons are looking for a Director of Swimming

Severnside Tritons is a competitive swimming club, dedicated to developing our swimmers’ skills, confidence, and a lifelong passion for the sport. 

The successful candidate will be overseeing both our Thornbury and Stroud squad locations. They will have strong leadership skills, prioritise excellent communication, and love swimming as much as we do. 

They must have achieved a minimum of Swim Coach (Level 2) and have prior experience of leading within a swimming club. Crucially, they will embody our values of respect, honesty, commitment, professionalism, sportsmanship and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities and Level of Commitment

• You will develop and manage the club programme and structure in-line with the philosophies of the ADS and LTAD Pathways.
• You will oversee the planning and delivery of sessions across both Stroud and Thornbury, being poolside for a minimum of 10 hours/week.
• With the support of the coaching team, you will monitor, assess and record swimmers’ progress and performance with respect to the program objectives, providing constructive feedback and support and communicating with parents as appropriate.
• You will plan the competition calendar and attend open meets and team competitions as required to provide coaching support for the swimmers.
• You will oversee team selection, ensuring opportunity for all.
• You will manage and develop the coaching team, through mentoring, training and feedback to deliver a cohesive and progressive program.
• You will role model a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all swimmers.
• You will pursue professional development, remaining up to date with current best coaching practice, swim regulations, and industry developments.
• You will work with the Committee to ensure the delivery of the Club objectives and the long-term success of Severnside Tritons.

This is a paid role with flexibility in structure for the right person or people and remuneration commensurate with the agreed scope of the role.
