Alex Meade joined Bere Regis and District Swimming Club two years ago and has since thrown himself into volunteering his considerable skills. He quickly took and passed his Level 1 swimming course and established himself as a leading and valued member of the teaching team.
Over the past year Alex has taken on more poolside responsibility culminating in his current role of managing the club's teaching team and dealing with matters on poolside. This he does with great style and enthusiasm. Apart from two hours teaching on poolside, Alex devotes around six hours a week on the management of the teaching team.
Over the past few months, Alex has built up a team of nine young helpers ( the older swimmers ) who now greatly assist the twelve qualified teachers. We know that many of these young helpers will go on to take their teaching exams in the due course of time. This is a fantastic experience for the young people who are not only helping the club but also gaining valuable life skills experience. This is all down to Alex.
Friendly, hard working and passionate about the club, Alex is hugely committed to Bere Regis Swimming Club and the sport of swimming.
