St Austell ASC, based in Cornwall, requires a part-time Head Coach for our local, friendly, supportive club.
The purpose of the role is predominantly to coach and guide the club's sessions currently on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons at St Austell Leisure Centre (Polkyth), with the assistance of volunteer coaches/teachers and poolside helpers.
About us and the role
St Austell ASC, also known as Sharks, started out first as a water polo club through to the current set-up as a competitive and welcoming amateur swimming club and water polo club.
Our current membership base is around 75, ranging from junior to masters swimmers with a water polo section also incorporated. The club caters for differing levels and abilities, accommodating different training needs including allowing regular opportunities to compete at local swim meets.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Head Coach to join a very friendly and supportive environment replacing our outgoing Head Coach who is standing aside after many successful years in the role.
Working as a member of a team, this role will require leading and supporting the coaching team to ensure consistent messages are delivered to the members, whilst contributing to the development of swimmers to enable them to achieve the best of their own personal ability. When the members are ready, there will also be the requirement of travel to and attendance at galas and open meets (predominantly at weekends) along with opportunities for further training opportunities once appointed.
This is a great time for a passionate individual to join St Austell ASC as Head Coach and contribute to the short, medium, and long-term development of its members.
