Swim England has released details of its National Awards 2019. As in the two previous years Swim England South West will be recognising the achievements of its clubs and volunteers by mirroring the 9 National Award Categories. There are some new and different categories this year. An online nomination form and full details can be found at https://www.swimming.org/swimengland/swim-england-national-awards/
Those nominations that relate to the South West will be returned to the Region for its judging panel to select a winner from each category. These Regional winners will be announced at the Regional Annual Council Meeting and will automatically be shortlisted for the Swim England National Awards along with the winners selected from the 7 other Swim England Regions. All Regional winners will be invited to the National Awards Ceremony at the University of Birmingham on November 30th.
Judges on the Regional panel last year felt that some nominations were weakened because they had not addressed the criteria. It is really important that the criteria is followed with the impact of the activity/activities clearly stated and that, with the exception of the Long Service Award, these achievements have taken place within the 12 month time frame (June/July 2018 – July 2019).
Over the past two years the South West Region has been extremely successful at National level. It would be fantastic if this success could be continued in 2019.
The closing date for all nominations is July 31st.
