The South West Masters Development Day took place on 13th January at the University of Bath.
The swimmers were able to make the most of the magnificent facilities in the Sports Training village as the programme consisted of two pool sessions, expertly led by Ian Woollard and ably supported by Fiona Verney. The group also took part in a yoga based stretching session in the Dojo.
Classroom sessions included a thought provoking talk by Dr Karen Howells of Cardiff Met University on using psychological skills to build confidence, an introduction to open water swimming by our national masters officer Sharon Lock and the wonderful Jane Asher spoke about how masters can and should design their own training that suits their needs.
The day ended with Jane, Sharon and Ian sharing their expertise with the group, in a question and answer session.
The feedback from the day has been great, a welcome opportunity for Masters swimmers in the Region to develop their knowledge and learn more.
See below for a few photos from the day.
