Coaching Para-Swimmers Seminar2018

A Disability/ Para Forum has been created within the South West region comprising of Club representatives, County Disability representatives, Regional Management Board representation, Former Paralympian Athlete(s), Swim England Para Swimming/ Disability team representative and the Swim England Club Development Officer.

The forum have an action plan to deliver which includes Regional Championships, Regional Training Sessions, Classification sign offs, Talent ID taster sessions and Coach Development Training.
 
The first event is scheduled to take place on the 18th November at Oxley Sports Centre, Sherborne Dorset - this will be the first of a number of events we plan to run this coming season.
 
Schedule for 18th November 2018:
 
9am-12pm CPD training session ‘Integrating disabled swimmers in mainstream swimming clubs’, there is a cost of £15 per person to attend this, the course has been subsidised by the region and lunch is included. To book a place please email Yvonne.stead@swimming.org

Please note - If you are a club currently delivering any sessions for young people or adults with a disability, please let us know so we have a full picture of what is currently being delivered within the region.

The CPD sessions will be developed around training needs of coaches so again please let us know if there is something you would like us to deliver in the future to enable us to source tutors accordingly.
